I have had 2 call in a week about laundry boxes failing or having a problem with laundry hoses. Sometime tonight I urge you to go and find this area of your house and check to see if they are leaking. If you are not sure give me a call. At this rate I'm going to own stock in. — at Morgan Miller Plumbing.

I cant stress enough how a simple check of these valves on a routine basis would save you at a minimum 500 dollars and it could reach in the thousands depending on whats below.  If you are not sure where to look or need help please reach out to us.  http://snowbirdmaintenance.com/home.html

"Snowbird LIfe" The guys are getting started on the farm house we looked at a few weeks ago. Filling all the walls with insulation. This will drastically reduce the monthly bills and speed up the retirement process. That is a win all day long in my book. — atA+ Insulation.

The Job went really well.  The guys finished up on Thursday.  I am meeting with home owners on Monday to go over the job.  We would have sooner but this isn't the main house for the family and they will be in town for Easter.  It has been a real pleasure working with the guys at A+ Insulation.  I will give you an update next week and keep you posted on how the Utility bills go for the summer.  Also I will be posting some pics of the Church water damage job we have been working on.  The flooring and counter tops are all that is left. I will post some pics of that job as well.

I want everyone to say hello to Greg. He is one of our go to painters and been en-valuable to us over the past few weeks. He brings a wealth of knowledge to the table as well as a great sense of humor. Greg loves music, all kinds of music. He is constantly introducing me to a new artist. Thanks Greg for being part of the Snowbird Maintenance team.

We are doing a some market research this weekend for an upcoming promotion. Stay tuned for the results. Thanks Smallcakes — at Smallcakes: Mission Farms.

We will be launching a marketing campaign very soon that will include a special treat from our friends at Smallcakes.  We are very excited to offering their cupcakes in this promotion, Ok let me honest everyone loves cupcakes.  I know I do.  We will be doing some door hangers and some direct mailers to areas all over Kansas city.  If you are lucky enough to receive one you will be able to get a Coupon for 4 free cupcakes from Smallcakes for anyone that schedules an in home evaluation.  We are very excited about this promotion.

Here is an example of some of the basic maintenance items that need to be checked on a regular basis. The wall behind the tile is wet and damaged. The price to repair this small job would have easily covered a years worth of maintenance. Soon they will be living the " Snowbird Life".

Not taking care of the grout and the caulking in these wet areas such as a bathtub can be very dangerous.  Not only is there damage being done to the walls which will cause the tile to fall off the wall and create hazards in the tub with the potential for major injury, but because of the constant water being trapped behind the tile you have the perfect ecosystem to create all sorts of horrible mold.  Mold remediation can be very expensive and can cause various alignments to your family.  Please check all your wet areas regularly for leaks.

ED, Living the SNOWBIRD LIFE

I want to introduce Ed.  He is Living the " Snowbird Life".  He goes dancing at least 3 times a week, He tells me its for the exercise but I think we all know its for the lady's.  And he knows his house is running smooth.

We met Ed at a local community center where they hold dances for over 50 folks.  I was there talking to people about the services I offer.  Ed came up and said he has a list of things that needs to be done.  We met at his house the following week and started compiling a list of the most needed things done first.  Ed was in desperate need of a Handyman.  He had a hole in the ceiling in the kitchen and the previous plumbers left him with a hole behind another toilet in the wall that needed patched.  We also set up to do a number of other items.  Well after 3 days of work we have the major things under control and have a discussed a program of coming out every other month to tackle other issues that need to be addressed.  Ed can now relax, enjoy his home and most importantly enjoy dancing.  Thanks Ed for letting us help.

Great things

I have to tell everyone that they were right.  Everyone has told me to be patient, to keep at it, to stay strong. That it takes time, keep doing what you are doing.  I want to say thank you for reminding me of all of those things.  I know it may seem simple to say and maybe even simple for some to do but I can tell you that surrounding yourself with great people, people that have been there, are there and are struggling along side you and seeing them succeed has been one of the best things I have done.  I can feel that things are starting to line up.  I have been all over the city shaking hands, smiling, passing out flyers, card, and social networking and it always amazes me how the great connections I make are all very closely related to each other even though they start out a million miles away.  It reminds me that I am moving in the right direction.  So with all that being said I have tell you that all of your encouragement if beginning to pay off.  The phone is beginning to ring, the email inbox is receiving email finally and my Facebook messenger is working.  So I just want to say THANK YOU and I will continue to stay strong and keep doing what I am doing.

Checking for leaks

Today is the day everyone one needs to get upnand go look under your sinks and check for leaks.  Your going to have to unload all the stuff  out from under the sink (maybe a good time to throw out some of the stuff you haven't used in awhile)  you may need a flashlight also. Before you climb under the sink turn on the water and let it run from hot and cold at the same time  .  Now that you are all ready for inspection its time, there are a few things you need to check.  The first thing you will see is the p trap, make sure the connections are snug and check for leaks or evidence of previous staining under p trap.  Next you will look for the valves at the wall, feel for leaks and check that the fittings are snug at the waterline connection.  Next you will want to inspect the drain tail piece and the base of the sink for leaks.  A tip for checking all this is use a dry finger to run around the connections you also use tissue paper wrapped around the fittings, the water will wick right to it.  Ok now you can reload the sink and move onto the next one.

Water Damage

Today we started a project for a friend of our that is the pastor of a local church. They had a small leak from the water fountain on the second floor.  Its amazing how something so small can cause so much damage.  Please take this opportunity to check your water connections and p traps under sinks and at the washing machine.  I know its a pain to get all the stuff out from under the sink and inspect it but the damage something like this causes is 20 times worse.  Today we hung drywall on the ceiling. Tomorrow we will hang the drywall on the walls and start the mudding process.  Here is a pic of how it started out today.  I will update you along the way,  BTW I am a bit sore tonight.  I will be looking for some Ibuprofin soon.
